MotoGP Camping, Shop Updates & more!

COTA, H2R, Racing, Rentals, SRF
Wow! It's been a crazy couple of months... lots of new and exciting things happening in and around the shop! So here's a quick update: MotoGP Camping We're VERY excited to be hosting 50-100 of our fellow enthusiasts for Moto GP camping April 19-21! With 17 acres there should be plenty of room for everybody to spread out and keep off each others toes. We hope the weather will cooperate, and that we'll get enough rain before then to get this burn ban lifted so we can have a good old fashioned, Texas-sized bonfire! But fear not, for those attending, we'll have some grills available for you to cook on and hopefully a "burn ban approved" fire pit/area so we can gather 'round, roast marshmellows and listen to some FANTASTIC…

Winding Road Magazine COTA tips mention!

COTA, Racing, Rentals
I'm super stoked how much visibilty my COTA Walkthrough post has gotten -- I'm just a schmuck with some racecars, but everybody's been SUPER complimentary and thanked me for posting it which gives me the warm fuzzies. But to have an online magazine mention and link my COTA tips is just incredible! If you haven't read through my writeup, go check it out, and if you haven't read Winding Road before, go check out their April issue! Other current events: The BFG Super Tour put on by Lone Star Region, SCCA at COTA is all sold out already, but if you'll be in the neighborhood come stop by the trailer and say hi! I'll have an RX7 and the Harris Hill Road Formula Ford there. And if you're looking for…

At the bottom of the page is my original writeup, circa 2013. A lot has changed at COTA as grip has increased, bumps have appeared, track limits have changed, etc. Before that is a current writeup from my buddy Rich Soule, as posted on his website, carsandcode.com: After many thousands of laps at CotA I can say for certain that the turns that most folks have trouble with are the following: Turn 3 You should enter turn 3 from as far LEFT as you feel comfortable. You should NOT go to the right side of the track to enter turn 3. Ideally you are carrying as much speed as possible through 2 and are brushing your driver’s side (assuming left hand drive car here) wheels right over the edge of…

COTA Parking, Camping, and Info

COTA, Rentals
I've gotten a couple emails asking about parking and camping for events at COTA, and rather than write a book on the COTA parking and camping page I'll try to explain a little real quick here: Campers and folks looking to park are welcome year round, whether you're in town for a track day, SCCA race, solar car expo, TV shoot or one of the big events like F1, MotoGP, Grand-AM, V8 Supercars or Kenny Chesney, we'll be glad to have you with us! Prices vary because we only offer a complete suite of services for the big events (like complimentary breakfast and coffee), and because of demand. We've also got discounts for volunteers at SCCA events and folks leasing cars from us for track days. There are also group…
