Circuit of the Americas MotoGP Camping!

COTA
We're a month away from the RedBull Circuit of the Americas MotoGP 2014 event, and we've still got plenty of room for camping and parking! Last year we had a blast with all the folks that came out, and look forward to some return customers and some new folks! We made some slight adjustments to the pricing from last year, now it's $25/night per person. We've also got group rates available, so if you've got a whole mess of friends coming out, shoot us a message for pricing! In addition to breakfast, coffee, 2 awesome outdoor showers and facilities, we're offering airport and beer store shuttles during the event this year! We ask that you give us a heads up so we can schedule picking you up. No hidden fees…

COTA Camping & Parking for MotoGP/X-Games!

COTA
Howdy ya'll, we're gearing up for MotoGP, Red Fest and the X-Games in 2014! We'll have our space available to our friends (new & old) for these two events, as well as any others! We've changed the Circuit of the Americas camping price structure a little bit, but it will have zero effect on most folks... those that it will effect are encouraged to email me and arrange a group rate! For those just here, we used to charge $50/night for a carload of campers. Now it's $25/night per person. Sucks for the big groups (which were very few), a better deal for those that come in solo, and no effect to most of our campers which are pairs or couples! Again, CONTACT US for group rates and discounts for…

COTA
Whew! We've been busier than the old one-eyed cat watching two mouse holes! But, reservations keep pouring in for USGP Camping and Parking for the upcoming Formula 1 race at COTA! Thanks to everybody that's RSVP'd so far, lots of repeat customers that we can't wait to see and some new faces we hope come back many more times in the future! To answer a couple questions that have kept coming up, it's now been a year and we still haven't had any issues walking to the track, so don't worry about any of their publicized statements to the contrary. If they actually do enforce it we'll work out a shuttle, but otherwise it's less of a hike than from their furthest on-site lots, and a heck of a lot…

COTA, H2R, Racing, Rentals, SRF
Wow! It's been a crazy couple of months... lots of new and exciting things happening in and around the shop! So here's a quick update: MotoGP Camping We're VERY excited to be hosting 50-100 of our fellow enthusiasts for Moto GP camping April 19-21! With 17 acres there should be plenty of room for everybody to spread out and keep off each others toes. We hope the weather will cooperate, and that we'll get enough rain before then to get this burn ban lifted so we can have a good old fashioned, Texas-sized bonfire! But fear not, for those attending, we'll have some grills available for you to cook on and hopefully a "burn ban approved" fire pit/area so we can gather 'round, roast marshmellows and listen to some FANTASTIC…

Winding Road Magazine COTA tips mention!

COTA, Racing, Rentals
I'm super stoked how much visibilty my COTA Walkthrough post has gotten -- I'm just a schmuck with some racecars, but everybody's been SUPER complimentary and thanked me for posting it which gives me the warm fuzzies. But to have an online magazine mention and link my COTA tips is just incredible! If you haven't read through my writeup, go check it out, and if you haven't read Winding Road before, go check out their April issue! Other current events: The BFG Super Tour put on by Lone Star Region, SCCA at COTA is all sold out already, but if you'll be in the neighborhood come stop by the trailer and say hi! I'll have an RX7 and the Harris Hill Road Formula Ford there. And if you're looking for…

At the bottom of the page is my original writeup, circa 2013. A lot has changed at COTA as grip has increased, bumps have appeared, track limits have changed, etc. Before that is a current writeup from my buddy Rich Soule, as posted on his website, carsandcode.com: After many thousands of laps at CotA I can say for certain that the turns that most folks have trouble with are the following: Turn 3 You should enter turn 3 from as far LEFT as you feel comfortable. You should NOT go to the right side of the track to enter turn 3. Ideally you are carrying as much speed as possible through 2 and are brushing your driver’s side (assuming left hand drive car here) wheels right over the edge of…

COTA Parking, Camping, and Info

COTA, Rentals
I've gotten a couple emails asking about parking and camping for events at COTA, and rather than write a book on the COTA parking and camping page I'll try to explain a little real quick here: Campers and folks looking to park are welcome year round, whether you're in town for a track day, SCCA race, solar car expo, TV shoot or one of the big events like F1, MotoGP, Grand-AM, V8 Supercars or Kenny Chesney, we'll be glad to have you with us! Prices vary because we only offer a complete suite of services for the big events (like complimentary breakfast and coffee), and because of demand. We've also got discounts for volunteers at SCCA events and folks leasing cars from us for track days. There are also group…
