Hey ya’ll! We’ve got a few folks signed up already for the TUDOR event September 19-20, but still have plenty of space! Camping is $25/night per person, as usual, and you can book it on the Camping page. For parking, we’re running a special deal — $10/day or $15 for both days if paid in advance! To book TUDOR parking, use our Square Market and look in the dropdown for the TUDOR event special pricing! Please only use this price point for the TUDOR race! If successful we may offer deals on future events, too, so be sure to come and tell your friends!
Reservations for USGP F1 Parking and Camping are already rolling in, too! We hope this will be another successful year for us, and have music and entertainment planning in the works already! We’re also hoping to offer golf kart shuttles to Turn 1 for the USGP like we did for MotoGP this year, but as usual that’s up to COTA’s policies. We hope to have definitive word well in advance! Last year we had a fantastic crowd and hope to see many familiar faces this year. We’ve also got great reviews on Facebook and Yelp, so don’t take our word for it!
Most of ya’ll know I’m a big proponent of helping others out, especially local businesses… well, Chin Motorsports may not be local, but they’ve got a local putting on their events in Texas, Oklahoma and Louisiana! Close enough! So, I’m proud to announce a deal from me to you, fellow racer/track enthusiast! If you put a deposit on a rental down by April 1 on ANY rental for Chin Motorsports’ April 12-13 event at Texas World Speedway, I’ll PAY YOUR ENTRY! That’s right, your entry fee is on Chris Taylor Racing Services! SRF, RX7, or Miata rentals all qualify, and I’m not even marking rentals up by the entry amount!
April 12-13 Chin Motorsports at TWS rental fees:
SRF, $2200 for the weekend
Miata, $1100 for the weekend
RX7, $950 for the weekend
Don’t believe me? Rental for the RX7s at the NASA event at TWS later that month are the same price! That’s how excited I am about Chin Motorsports coming to Texas. If that isn’t a personal testimony, I don’t know what is! They’re also running at MSR-Houston May 17-18; so help give me the best birthday present ever and get ALL my rentals at the track for that weekend! They’re coming back to TWS in August and NOLA, so head over to Chin Motorsports’ website to check out their schedule!
I’m in such a giving mood, I’m even offering 20% off shop rate for the entire month of March! If you’re a fan of ours on Facebook you’ve already seen it, but I’m posting it here now, too! If you’re not a follower on Facebook, go give us a like and stay tuned for more sweet deals like this! If you’re into Twitter or Instagram, you can find me on there, too! It’s a little look into my personal life with updates and pics from daily activities. There’s links at the top of the main page to all my social media sites! @CTRacingServ on Twitter and racerchristaylor on Instagram!
Wow! It’s been a crazy couple of months… lots of new and exciting things happening in and around the shop! So here’s a quick update:
We’re VERY excited to be hosting 50-100 of our fellow enthusiasts for Moto GP camping April 19-21! With 17 acres there should be plenty of room for everybody to spread out and keep off each others toes. We hope the weather will cooperate, and that we’ll get enough rain before then to get this burn ban lifted so we can have a good old fashioned, Texas-sized bonfire! But fear not, for those attending, we’ll have some grills available for you to cook on and hopefully a “burn ban approved” fire pit/area so we can gather ’round, roast marshmellows and listen to some FANTASTIC local, live music from our friend Matt A. Foster!
If you’re one of the folks doing MotoGP camping with us in a few weeks, stay tuned –we’ll be sending out a confirmation email with some maps and info about local amenities and landmarks.
At this point I’d like to send a public thank you to all our rental customers so far this year! It’s great that we’ve got a world-class, several hundred million dollar racing facility across the street… and even greater that we’ve had so many wonderful customers that have been able to experience it in our equipment! But more importantly I’d like to thank Harris Hill Road for their continued support of our program. Without them we wouldn’t be able to get on track as quickly and as easily as we do! It’s because of them we can do full day and half day rentals and driver instruction pretty much any day of the week, any week of the year!
Lastly, I’ve been hard at work re-organizing the shop to handle all of our rental and customer cars… and I’m running out of room! I’m hopeful that we’ll be able to break ground on a bigger, newer, nicer shop here soon, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Interested in an investment opportunity? Shoot me a message! I’m looking to expand shop rental as well as F1 and MotoGP Camping facilities!
Whew it’s been a busy couple of months… Taylor Rotorsports is building a new SpecRX7 for a client, we’ve had a ton of rentals in the last few months, and have a ton more coming up soon! But, there’s still a few cars available for SCCA rentals at TWS in May, as well as Eagles Canyon in April.
SRF, STL RX7 and SpecRX7s are all still available — and we’re still looking for more season leases as well as arrive-and-drive customers! Our past customers have always commended our Texas hospitality, and our 48 foot trailer can hold any amount of tools and spares needed for speedy repairs! Contact us today for pricing and availability.
SCCA Rentals and more!
Whether you’re on a budget or looking to win races and championships, Chris Taylor Racing Services can help you out! Our affiliation with Harris Hill Road allows for easy and affordable track testing pretty much any day of the week and for days at a time. Driver coaching, data acquisition and video analysis or just good old fashioned seat time — we’re your one stop shop for racing in Central Texas! SCCA, NASA, PCA, BMWCCA — we’ll go anywhere, any time!
I’m super stoked how much visibilty my COTA Walkthrough post has gotten — I’m just a schmuck with some racecars, but everybody’s been SUPER complimentary and thanked me for posting it which gives me the warm fuzzies. But to have an online magazine mention and link my COTA tips is just incredible! If you haven’t read through my writeup, go check it out, and if you haven’t read Winding Road before, go check out their April issue!
Other current events:
The BFG Super Tour put on by Lone Star Region, SCCA at COTA is all sold out already, but if you’ll be in the neighborhood come stop by the trailer and say hi! I’ll have an RX7 and the Harris Hill Road Formula Ford there. And if you’re looking for a rental for BMW Club or any other event, drop me a note!
If you’re headed to the Circuit of the Americas for the March SCCA race and need some help getting up to speed on a brand new track, Chris is more than happy to help you learn the track! Using the same proven techniques of nearly every professional driver, Chris can help you learn the track and get up to speed quickly and stress free with or without data and video!
Or if you just need help getting the car ready or a spotter for the race, the team will be there with our 48 foot trailer and awning with plenty of room for you and your slick machine! Head over to the Contact page for Pricing and availability!
Ya’ll have asked, but here’s the answer: Yes, we DO have COTA rentals available! Whether it’s for a track day, photo shoot, TV segment or anything else, we’ll gladly provide a car or cars for you! It’s a short trip, so as long as everything is prepped and ready to go we can be there with as little as 24 hours notice! Pricing depends on availability so Contact Us today to find out!
COTA Rental Availability:
Any of our rental cars are available for events at the Circuit of the Americas. This includes Spec Racer Ford (SRF), any of our RX7 racecars, and our bone-stock 1991 Miata with a hardtop. Pricing varies depending on duration, lead time, and how many drivers expected. For more specific info on the cars, head over to our Rentals page. For track days and photo/TV shoots we have more options with tires and grip. I cannot guarantee acceptance of cars for classes or groups other than those they’re intended for — if your track day group doesn’t like purpose built racecars with no passenger seats, the RX7s are probably a better choice than an SRF. Without writing a novel here, your best bet is to shoot me a message and I’ll gladly work with you to find a suitable car for your event!
